This bill appropriates $2.5 million from the general fund of the state to the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for the fiscal year 2024-2025. The funds are designated for distribution to nonprofit resettlement agencies that are part of the reception and placement assistance program in cooperation with the United States Department of State. The distribution of these funds will be proportional to the number of refugees each agency sponsors under their cooperative agreement.
