This bill amends the allocation of special nonresident hunting licenses in Iowa by removing the existing provisions for the annual allocation of 50 nonresident deer hunting licenses and 25 nonresident turkey hunting licenses intended for state officials and local development groups. Specifically, subsections 3 and 4 of Section 483A.24 are deleted, which previously outlined these allocations.

In place of the deleted allocations, the bill introduces a new provision that allows the director to provide up to 75 nonresident deer hunting licenses and 25 nonresident turkey hunting licenses specifically for nonresidents who are disabled veterans or currently serving in the armed forces and have been disabled during their military service. These licenses are intended to enable disabled individuals to participate in hunting experiences organized for them in the state.
