This bill amends Section 39.2 of the Iowa Code to expand the dates available for holding special elections related to school district tax levies. Specifically, it allows for an additional election date in even-numbered years, permitting a special election to be held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November. This new provision applies when the election is for the levying of a tax or the adjustment of a levy pursuant to sections 298.18 or 298.18A.

The existing law already provides for special elections in odd-numbered years on the first Tuesday in March, the second Tuesday in September, and the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November, as well as in even-numbered years on the first Tuesday in March and the second Tuesday in September.
