This bill amends the public notice requirements for meetings of governmental bodies in Iowa. It specifies that the act of giving notice must include advising news media that have requested notifications, posting the notice in a prominent and conspicuous location designated annually by the governmental body, and posting the notice on any relevant internet site maintained by the governmental body. Additionally, if a tentative agenda is amended, it must be marked as "AMENDED," with the changes clearly identified, and a new notice must be provided.

Furthermore, the bill introduces a requirement for governmental bodies to provide notice if a meeting is canceled, with the notice to be given at least twenty-four hours prior to the meeting or as soon as reasonably possible if good cause prevents timely notice. The bill also clarifies that electronic meetings must comply with the same notice requirements and extends these requirements to notices related to public appointments and whole grade sharing agreements.
