The Syllabus Transparency Act mandates that regents institutions in Iowa make course syllabus information publicly available on their websites for each undergraduate course offered for credit. The syllabus must include the instructor's name, a brief description of major course requirements, and any required or recommended reading materials. Additionally, the bill outlines specific accessibility requirements, such as ensuring the information is easily accessible from the institution's homepage, searchable by keywords, and available without requiring user registration. The syllabus must be posted by the first day of classes and updated promptly if changes occur, remaining accessible for at least one year.

This legislation does not apply to undergraduate courses that do not typically meet in a classroom setting, such as internships or independent study programs. The bill is set to take effect on December 31, 2025.
