This bill amends existing laws regarding the conveyance of firearms in or on certain vehicles in Iowa. It removes prohibitions against operating or riding snowmobiles or all-terrain vehicles with loaded firearms, as well as the restrictions on discharging firearms from these vehicles, including exceptions for nonambulatory individuals while hunting. Specifically, the bill strikes subsections from Sections 321G.13 and 321I.14, and paragraph q from Section 805.8B, effectively eliminating these regulations.

Additionally, the bill repeals Section 483A.36, which previously imposed restrictions on carrying firearms in vehicles on public highways, including the requirement for guns to be disassembled or contained in a fastened case. The associated fines for conveying an assembled, unloaded gun and for conveying a loaded gun are also removed. Overall, the bill significantly relaxes the regulations surrounding the transport and use of firearms in vehicles.
