The Syllabus Transparency Act mandates that regents institutions in Iowa make course syllabus information publicly accessible on their websites. Each institution is required to provide a syllabus for every section of each undergraduate course offered for credit, which must include the instructor's name, a brief description of major course requirements, any required or recommended reading materials, and a general overview of the subject matter for each lecture or discussion.

Additionally, the bill outlines specific accessibility requirements for this information, ensuring it can be accessed from the institution's homepage with no more than five links, is searchable by keywords, and does not require user registration. The syllabus information must be available by the first day of classes for each academic term, updated promptly when changes occur, and remain accessible for at least one year. The Act is set to take effect on December 31, 2025.
