This bill establishes regulations regarding the use of bots for purchasing event tickets online, defining key terms such as "bot," "event," and "ticket." It prohibits individuals from using or creating bots to exceed posted ticket purchase limits, utilize multiple accounts or addresses for excessive purchases, or bypass electronic sales systems designed to manage ticket sales. Additionally, it restricts the circumvention of security measures that ensure authorized entry to events.

The bill mandates that ticket sellers report any known violations to the attorney general within five days and allows individuals to report violations as well. The attorney general is tasked with creating an electronic reporting system for these submissions. If violations are suspected, the attorney general can take civil action to enforce compliance, impose penalties of up to $10,000 per violation, and seek further penalties of up to $100,000 for violations of injunctions related to the bill.
