1 An Act relating to continuing education requirements for

3 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:

1 Section 1. Section 272C.2, subsection 2, Code 2024, is
2 amended by adding the following new paragraph:
3 NEW PARAGRAPH. h. Allow a licensee to apply continuing
4 education credit obtained in excess of the requirements for a
5 renewal period to the continuing education requirements for
6 the following renewal period in an amount not to exceed fifty
7 percent of the continuing education credits required for a
8 renewal period. A licensing board may adopt rules specifying
9 types of continuing education credits earned in a renewal
10 period that cannot be applied to the continuing education
11 requirements for the following renewal period.
