3 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:

1 Section 1. NEW SECTION. 279.84 Posting of mental health
2 resources online.
3 1. A school district shall post on the school district’s
4 internet site a list of mental health resources available at
5 the school district. Such resources shall include but are
6 not limited to resources for identification and treatment of
7 student mental health needs as well as mental health resources
8 identified on the internet site of the your life Iowa program
9 or a successor program. A school district shall also post
10 the internet site address of the your life Iowa program or a
11 successor program.
12 2. A school district shall promote awareness of the location
13 on the school district’s internet site of the resources
14 specified by this section to students, including at student
15 events, by posted materials in school buildings, and by
16 electronic means.
17 EXPLANATION
18 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
19 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly.
20 This bill requires a school district to post on the school
21 district’s internet site a list of mental health resources
22 available at the school district, including but not limited to
23 resources for identification and treatment of student mental
24 health needs and the internet site address of the your life
25 Iowa program or a successor program.
26 The bill requires a school district to promote awareness
27 of the location on the school district’s internet site of the
28 specified resources to students.
