AN ACT
RELATING TO THE LICENSURE OF EMPLOYERS PROVIDING INTERPRETING
AND TRANSLITERATING SERVICES TO EMPLOYEES.
3 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
1 Section 1. NEW SECTION. 154E.3B Licensure of employers.
2 1. An employer that employs a person to provide interpreting
3 or transliterating services to the employer’s employees may be
4 licensed pursuant to this chapter.
5 2. Notwithstanding section 154E.3, a person employed by
6 an employer licensed pursuant to this chapter to provide
7 interpreting or transliterating services to the employer’s
8 employees is not required to be licensed pursuant to this
9 chapter, but shall meet the requirements for licensure under
10 section 154E.3.

11 3. The board shall adopt rules pursuant to chapter 17A for
12 the process of applying for, granting, suspending, reinstating,
13 renewing, and revoking a license issued pursuant to this
14 section.
