AN ACT
RELATING TO PUBLIC SAFETY TELECOMMUNICATORS.
2 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
1 Section 1. Section 80F.1, subsection 1, paragraph f, Code
2 2024, is amended to read as follows:
3 f. “Officer” means a certified law enforcement officer, fire
4 fighter, emergency medical technician, corrections officer,
5 detention officer, jailer, probation or parole officer,
6 communications officer public safety telecommunicator, or
7 any other law enforcement officer certified by the Iowa law
8 enforcement academy and employed by a municipality, county, or
9 state agency.
10 Sec. 2. Section 622.10, subsection 9, paragraph c,
11 subparagraph (1), Code 2024, is amended to read as follows:
12 (1) “Officer” means a certified law enforcement officer,
13 fire fighter, emergency medical technician, paramedic,
14 corrections officer, detention officer, jailer, probation
15 or parole officer, communications officer public safety
16 telecommunicator, dispatcher, emergency management coordinator
17 under chapter 29C, or any other law enforcement officer
