H.F. 2150
Section 1. Section 256.165, subsection 1, paragraph
b, subparagraph (1), Code 2024, is amended by striking the
subparagraph.
EXPLANATION
The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly.
This bill eliminates a requirement related to obtaining
a transitional coaching authorization from the board of
educational examiners (BOEE). Current law requires an
individual to complete a shortened course of training relating
to the code of professional rights and responsibilities,
practices, and ethics developed by the BOEE for transitional
coaches before the individual can obtain a transitional
coaching authorization. The bill strikes this requirement.
The bill does not affect other requirements associated with
obtaining a transitional coaching authorization, including
requirements related to completion of child and dependent adult
abuse mandatory reporter training, completion of concussion
in youth sports training, and compliance with background
investigation requirements.
