1 An Act requiring the natural resource commission to conduct a
2 survey relating to state park accessibility for persons with
3 disabilities.
4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:

1 Section 1. Section 461A.3, Code 2024, is amended by adding
2 the following new subsection:
3 NEW SUBSECTION. 3. The commission shall conduct an
4 annual survey of state parks identifying accessible trails
5 and features for persons with disabilities. The results of
6 the annual survey shall be made available on the department’s
7 internet site for the public to use as a resource.
8 EXPLANATION
9 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
10 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly.
11 This bill requires the natural resource commission to
12 conduct an annual survey of state parks identifying trails and
13 features that are accessible for persons with disabilities.
14 The results of the annual survey shall be made available on the
15 department’s internet site for the public to use as a resource.
