1 Section 1. MEDICAID HOME AND COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICES
2 WAIVER FOR CHILDREN WITH AUTISM —— REQUEST. The department
3 of health and human services shall submit a request to the
4 centers for Medicare and Medicaid services of the United States
5 department of health and human services for approval of a
6 Medicaid home and community-based services waiver for children
7 with autism. The department of health and human services shall
8 implement the waiver upon receipt of federal approval.
9 EXPLANATION
10 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
11 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly.
12 This bill requires the department of health and human
13 services (HHS) to submit a request to the centers for Medicare
14 and Medicaid services of the United States department of
15 health and human services for approval of a Medicaid home and
16 community-based services waiver for children with autism. HHS
17 shall implement the waiver upon receipt of federal approval.
