HOUSE RESOLUTION
commending and congratulating waialua robotics team 359 – hawaiian kids for its outstanding accomplishments.
WHEREAS, proudly representing Waialua High & Intermediate School, WAIALUA ROBOTICS TEAM 359 – HAWAIIAN KIDS has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to excellence in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), fostering a team culture that promotes innovation, teamwork, and critical problem-solving skills among its members; and
WHEREAS, WAIALUA ROBOTICS TEAM 359 – HAWAIIAN KIDS has consistently represented the school and the broader Waialua community with distinction through active participation in competitive robotics events, earning numerous awards, advancing in regional and national competitions, and showcasing exceptional technical skills, creativity, and perseverance in designing, building, and programming robotic systems; and
WHEREAS, notable achievements of WAIALUA ROBOTICS TEAM 359 – HAWAIIAN KIDS include winning the 2026 FIRST Robotics Competition Hawaii Regional and receiving the 2026 Hawaii Regional FIRST Impact Award and 2026 Canadian Pacific Regional Woodie Flowers Finalist Award; and
WHEREAS, WAIALUA ROBOTICS TEAM 359 – HAWAIIAN KIDS has devoted significant time and effort to learning engineering concepts and working collaboratively to overcome challenges; its achievements at the state and national levels are a testament to the hard work and dedication of its student members and the invaluable support provided by mentors, coaches, educators, and families; and
WHEREAS, the members of WAIALUA ROBOTICS TEAM 359 – HAWAIIAN KIDS serve as exemplary role models for their peers, promoting STEM education and encouraging future generations to pursue careers in technology through hosting robotics workshops for local schools, organizing annual community STEM fairs, and establishing meaningful partnerships with local businesses and organizations to provide hands-on learning opportunities that inspire students and the broader community; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the Thirty-third Legislature of the State of Hawai i, Regular Session of 2026, that this body hereby commends and congratulates WAIALUA ROBOTICS TEAM 359 – HAWAIIAN KIDS for its outstanding accomplishments and extends to the team its warmest aloha and best wishes for continued success as the team prepares for the upcoming national and international robotics competitions, pursues new STEM outreach initiatives, and strives to achieve greater milestones in the year ahead.
