HOUSE RESOLUTION

 

 

congratulating central pacific bank ON ITS 70th ANNIVERSARY.

 

 

 


     WHEREAS, CENTRAL PACIFIC BANK was established by a cohort of esteemed World War II Nisei veterans who valiantly served in the legendary 442nd Regimental Combat Team, 100th infantry Battalion, and Military Intelligence Service; they steadfastly rejected the social inequities following World War II; and

 

     WHEREAS, with their "Go for Broke" spirit, these young nisei began meeting regularly under the banyan trees of Ala Moana Beach Park to pursue their vision of creating a bank that would serve all of Hawaii's people; and

 

     WHEREAS, on February 15, 1954, CENTRAL PACIFIC BANK began operations on the principle of "Building a Better Hawaii", driven by a commitment to foster economic growth and support local communities; and

 

     WHEREAS, for seven decades, CENTRAL PACIFIC BANK has served as a pillar of financial stability and prosperity in the State of Hawaii, providing essential banking services, promoting small businesses, and empowering countless individuals to achieve their homeownership and wealth management goals; and

 

     WHEREAS, through strategic partnerships with local organizations and businesses, CENTRAL PACIFIC BANK has played a vital role in fueling community development, educational initiatives, and cultural programs, enriching the lives of residents throughout the State; and

 

     WHEREAS, dedicated to environmental sustainability, CENTRAL PACIFIC BANK has inspired positive change, promoting renewable energy solutions and responsible resource management, setting a benchmark for corporate environmental stewardship; and

 

     WHEREAS, CENTRAL PACIFIC BANK's commitment to its employees, cultivating an environment that cherishes diversity, inclusion, and professional development, has led to an energetic and committed workforce, enhancing the bank's success and beneficial influence; now, therefore,

 

     BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the Thirty-second Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2024, that this body hereby congratulates CENTRAL PACIFIC BANK on the momentous occasion of its 70th anniversary and extends its warmest aloha and best wishes for continued success.
