Your Committee on Higher Education & Technology, to which was
referred S.C.R. No. 202, S.D. 1, entitled:
“SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION URGING THE DEVELOPMENT OF A
BACCALAUREATE DEGREE PROGRAM IN EDUCATION WITH AN ONLINE
OPTION AT LEEWARD COMMUNITY COLLEGE TO ADDRESS THE
EDUCATIONAL NEEDS OF WORKING ADULTS IN ALL COUNTIES,”
begs leave to report as follows:
The purpose of this measure is to urge the development of a
baccalaureate degree program in education with an online option at
Leeward Community College to address the educational needs of
working adults in all counties.
Your committee received testimony in support from the
University of Hawaii.
As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your
Committee on Higher Education & Technology that is attached to
this report, your Committee concurs with the intent and purpose of
S.C.R. No. 202, S.D. 1, and recommends that it be referred to your
Committee on Finance.
