Your Committee on Water & Land, to which was referred S.C.R.
No. 99 entitled:
“SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE UNITED STATES
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO CONDUCT AN INVESTIGATION
REGARDING THE SAFETY OF THE BRIDGES ALONG HANA HIGHWAY,”
begs leave to report as follows:
The purpose of this measure is to request the United States
Department of Transportation to conduct an investigation into the
safety of the bridges along Hana Highway.
Your Committee received testimony in support of this measure
from seven individuals.
Your Committee finds that as a heavily traveled route by
residents and visitors, Hana Highway urgently needs an
investigation of the safety of its numerous bridges.
As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your
Committee on Water & Land that is attached to this report, your
Committee concurs with the intent and purpose of S.C.R. No. 99 and
recommends that it be referred to your Committee on
Transportation.
