Your Committee on Consumer Protection & Commerce, to which
was referred H.R. No. 1 entitled:
“HOUSE RESOLUTION URGING RETAIL STORES AND PHARMACIES DOING
BUSINESS IN THE STATE TO ADOPT A POLICY ON A NATIONAL AND
LOCAL LEVEL GUARANTEEING AN INDIVIDUAL’S UNHINDERED ACCESS TO
ALL UNITED STATES FOOD AND DRUG ADMINISTRATION-APPROVED
CONTRACEPTIVES,”
begs leave to report as follows:
The purpose of this measure is to urge retail stores and
pharmacies doing business in the State to adopt a policy on a
national and local level guaranteeing an individual’s unhindered
access to all United States Food and Drug Administration-approved
contraceptives.
Your Committee received testimony in support from Indivisible
Hawaii Healthcare Team; Hawaii State Democratic Women’s Caucus;
AlohaCare; and six individuals.
As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your
Committee on Consumer Protection & Commerce that is attached to
this report, your Committee concurs with the intent and purpose of
H.R. No. 1 and recommends its adoption.
