Over the years, the organization has adapted to meet the changing needs of society, focusing on nurturing the potential of children and teens, improving health and well-being, and fostering connections among diverse groups.

Today, the YMCA operates nearly 2,600 locations across the United States, serving over 17 million individuals, including 11 million adults and 6.5 million children and youth. In Florida, the YMCA engages approximately one in every 18 residents, providing essential services such as youth enrichment programs, health and wellness initiatives, and childcare. The resolution recognizes the YMCA's significant contributions to combating social isolation and loneliness by creating inclusive spaces that promote achievement, well-being, and community connection.
