The JWB was ratified by Pinellas County citizens in 1946 and has since evolved to serve a significant number of children through various programs and partnerships.

Over the years, the JWB has expanded its reach, serving 83,622 children in 2025 through investments in 98 quality programs with 51 nonprofit agencies. Its initiatives focus on prevention and early intervention services, addressing critical issues such as childhood development, mental health, education, and hunger. The resolution acknowledges the JWB's 80-year commitment to prioritizing children's needs and its impactful service to the community, culminating in a formal recognition by the Florida Senate, which will present a copy of the resolution to the JWB as a token of appreciation.
