The bill amends section 402.33 of the Florida Statutes to authorize the Department of Children and Families, the Department of Health, and the Agency for Persons with Disabilities to access certain benefit payments from the United States Department of Veterans Affairs. This access is specifically for benefit payments that are in a combined account for postsecondary education services and aftercare services when a minor client reaches 18 years of age or 23 years of age if still enrolled in school.

Additionally, the bill includes a provision that prohibits these departments from supplanting financial assistance that is already provided under section 409.1451(2)(b). The changes will take effect on July 1, 2026.
