This bill amends section 486.021 of the Florida Statutes to exempt certain services from the requirement that a physical therapist must have a practitioner of record review and sign a treatment plan. Specifically, the bill allows physical therapists to implement treatment plans without this requirement when a patient has been examined and diagnosed by a physician licensed in another state for a condition requiring physical therapy. Additionally, the requirement is also waived for services aimed at health promotion, injury prevention, wellness, or fitness.
