This bill amends the existing laws governing the office of general counsel for the City of Jacksonville, specifically allowing the Duval County School Board to employ its own general counsel. The new legal language specifies that this general counsel will operate independently from the City of Jacksonville's office of general counsel but will still be subject to the opinions of the City’s general counsel as outlined in section 7.202. This provision is limited to the selection and employment of the general counsel for the Duval County School Board.

Additionally, the bill stipulates that all other legal services for the Duval County School Board and the Duval County Public Schools, as determined by the City’s general counsel, will continue to be provided through the City’s office of general counsel. The attorneys responsible for these services will remain under the supervision of the City’s general counsel. The bill is set to take effect upon becoming law.
