This bill amends several sections of the Florida Statutes to authorize the Agency for Health Care Administration to include community health worker services as an optional Medicaid service. Specifically, it adds a new subsection to section 409.906, defining community health worker services to encompass a variety of health-related support activities, such as health promotion, cultural mediation, and care coordination. The agency is required to adopt rules to implement these services and may seek federal approval for their inclusion in Medicaid.

Additionally, the bill modifies section 409.908 by adding community health worker services to the list of Medicaid services eligible for reimbursement on a fee-for-service basis. It also amends section 409.973 to require Medicaid managed care plans to cover community health worker services as a minimum benefit. The effective date for these changes is set for July 1, 2026.
