The bill amends section 472.015 of the Florida Statutes to expand the eligibility requirements for applicants seeking licensure by endorsement in the field of surveying and mapping. It introduces a new category of applicants who hold a valid license from another state or territory, are in good standing, and have at least five years of relevant experience in the active practice of surveying and mapping. This addition allows for greater flexibility in recognizing the qualifications of out-of-state professionals. The previous requirement that applicants must have held a license issued before July 1, 1999, or meet specific equivalency criteria has been modified to include this new pathway.

Additionally, the bill authorizes the Board of Professional Surveyors and Mappers to require documentation and independently evaluate the good standing of applicants, including their disciplinary and competency records. The board is also empowered to adopt rules to implement these changes effectively. The act is set to take effect on July 1, 2026.
