This bill amends sections 112.3148 and 112.3149 of the Florida Statutes to change the filing requirements for financial disclosures related to gifts and honoraria for reporting individuals and procurement employees. Specifically, it mandates that these individuals file annual reports listing gifts valued over $100 and honorarium expenses directly with the Commission on Ethics, rather than with their financial disclosure statements. Additionally, those who have left office or employment within a specified timeframe are also required to submit their annual reports to the Commission on Ethics.
The bill removes the previous requirement for these reports to be filed at the same location as the financial disclosure statements. It clarifies that the annual reports must include details such as the name of the gift provider, a description of the gift, and the total value of gifts received, as well as the name, address, and affiliation of the person providing honorarium expenses. The effective date of the act is upon becoming law.
