This bill amends section 604.71 of the Florida Statutes to allow qualified patients, who are at least 21 years old, to cultivate up to six flowering cannabis plants at their residence for personal and noncommercial use. Additionally, these patients are permitted to purchase medical marijuana seeds and clones from licensed medical marijuana treatment centers. The bill also mandates that patients who cultivate cannabis must secure their plants to prevent unauthorized access and adhere to limitations on personal consumption as specified in existing law.
Furthermore, the bill establishes penalties for the sale of patient-cultivated cannabis plants and products, as well as for cultivation that exceeds the specified limits. The effective date for this act is set for July 1, 2026.
