This bill establishes a new section in Florida law, specifically section 409.9064, which mandates Medicaid coverage for validated at-home blood pressure monitors and blood pressure cuffs for eligible recipients diagnosed with hypertension. The bill defines key terms, including "blood pressure cuff" and "validated at-home blood pressure monitor," and outlines the conditions under which coverage will be provided. Specifically, coverage is contingent upon a diagnosis from a licensed healthcare practitioner and a prescription for the monitor. Additionally, the bill ensures that the cost of necessary repairs or replacement parts for these devices is included in the coverage.

To maintain coverage, recipients must engage in follow-up care with their healthcare provider at least once every six months during the first 18 months after receiving their monitor, and at least once every 12 months thereafter. The Agency for Health Care Administration is tasked with seeking federal approval for the implementation of this coverage and must account for the financial impact of this act in the Medicaid program rates effective October 1, 2026. The bill is set to take effect on the same date.
