This bill amends several sections of Florida Statutes related to mobile homes, specifically focusing on the obligations of mobile home park owners and mobile home owners. It introduces new requirements for mobile home park owners, including the necessity to require mobile home owners to maintain a current registration sticker, keep updated records of mobile home ownership, and ensure compliance with applicable building, housing, fire, and health codes. Additionally, it revises the obligations of mobile home owners to comply with these codes and removes the previous stipulation that homeowners are responsible for fines imposed by local governments for noncompliance.
The bill also empowers local governments to adopt and enforce codes or ordinances to ensure compliance with the obligations set forth in the amended sections. It clarifies that a mobile home owner cannot be penalized for the responsibilities of the park owner and vice versa. Furthermore, it reenacts certain sections to incorporate these amendments and establishes that the act will take effect on July 1, 2026.
