The bill amends Section 97.0291 of the Florida Statutes to allow specified high school students who volunteer to assist poll workers to be exempt from certain prohibitions regarding the solicitation and use of private funds for election-related expenses. The new language clarifies that while agencies and state or local officials are generally prohibited from accepting private donations for election administration, this does not apply to high school students who are registered or preregistered to vote and are volunteering for community service hours.

Additionally, the bill specifies that the prohibition on accepting private funds does not extend to the donation and acceptance of space for polling rooms or early voting sites. The effective date for this act is set for July 1, 2026.
