This bill amends several sections of Florida Statutes related to the management and exchange of conservation lands. It requires the Division of State Lands to publish specific information on its website at least 30 days prior to meetings of the Acquisition and Restoration Council or the Board of Trustees regarding proposed sales or exchanges of conservation lands. The information to be published includes details about the parcels of land involved and explanations for why they are no longer needed for conservation purposes. Additionally, the bill mandates that parcels proposed for exchange must be appraised according to established criteria and outlines the process for submitting requests for land exchanges, including the need for recommendations from the council.

The bill also makes technical changes and deletes certain provisions that previously required the division to submit requests for review to the council and provide recommendations to the board. Instead, it establishes a more streamlined process for the division to publish necessary information and seek recommendations from the council before proceeding with land exchanges. Furthermore, it amends the governing board of water management districts to include similar requirements for publishing information before meetings to review proposed land sales or exchanges. The bill is set to take effect on July 1, 2026.
