The bill amends section 460.403 of the Florida Statutes to expand the definition of the "practice of chiropractic medicine." It authorizes chiropractic physicians to
possess, prescribe, and administer vitamins, nutrient preparations, homeopathic remedies, dietary supplements, and epinephrine through specified means, including injections, while prohibiting the use of intravenous therapy. Additionally, it establishes that chiropractic physicians must be certified by the Board of Chiropractic Medicine to administer these substances by injection, requiring them to complete at least 36 hours of education and training and pass an examination.
Furthermore, the bill allows licensed pharmacists to fill, compound, or dispense prescriptions for these items as prescribed by certified chiropractic physicians. The certification program will include training on the safe administration of these substances, covering protocols, indications, contraindications, and emergency procedures. The act is set to take effect on July 1, 2026.
