This bill amends section 320.08058 of the Florida Statutes regarding the Fraternal Order of Police license plate. It removes the previous restriction that limited the issuance of the license plate to applicants who could provide a notarized letter confirming their membership in good standing with the Florida State Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police or their family members. This change allows a broader range of applicants to obtain the license plate.

Additionally, the bill revises the distribution and use of the annual fees collected from the sales of the Fraternal Order of Police license plate. The proceeds will now be directed to the Florida State Lodge Memorial Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit organization, which will manage the funds according to its articles of incorporation. The previous stipulations regarding the allocation of proceeds for promotional and administrative costs, as well as funding for memorial-related projects, have been removed, allowing the foundation greater flexibility in the use of the funds. The act is set to take effect on October 1, 2026.
