The bill amends section 1003.44 of the Florida Statutes to require each district school board to adopt rules for the display of patriotic symbols in public schools. Additionally, subject to legislative appropriation, the bill requires the display of portraits of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln at each public school, with the Department of Education responsible for selecting and providing these portraits to the school districts.

The bill modifies existing language by removing the previous requirement for the display of the state motto in all schools and buildings of the district, while adding the new requirements for the portraits of the two presidents. The effective date for this act is set for July 1, 2026.
