This bill addresses the needs of victims of domestic violence and dating violence by establishing a feasibility study for a web-based 911 alert system. The Division of Telecommunications within the Department of Management Services is tasked with consulting relevant entities to explore the creation of this alert system, which would facilitate real-time data sharing between public safety answering points (PSAPs) and law enforcement agencies. The system aims to provide victims with a unique telephone number and a user-generated code to signal their need for immediate assistance. The division is required to report the findings of this study to the Legislature by January 31, 2027.

Additionally, the bill amends several sections of Florida Statutes to include dating violence in the definitions and protections previously focused solely on domestic violence. It revises legislative findings to recognize victims of dating violence, allows these victims to apply for the Attorney General's address confidentiality program, and mandates that designated agencies assist them in this process. The bill also ensures that information about the address confidentiality program is provided to victims of both domestic and dating violence. The act is set to take effect on July 1, 2026.
