The bill establishes a new section in Florida law, 381.995, focused on the impact of perimenopause and menopause on women's health. It mandates the Department of Health to create a perimenopause and menopause policy workgroup, which will consist of healthcare providers, women who have experienced these stages, advocates, and other interested parties. The workgroup is tasked with developing key messages, setting initiative priorities, ensuring representation of diverse communities, and creating a coordinated communications strategy to reach various audiences, including women, men, employers, and medical providers. Additionally, the workgroup will support communication efforts regarding hormone replacement therapy and nonhormonal therapies for menopausal women.

Furthermore, the Department of Health, in collaboration with the workgroup and relevant agencies, is required to develop and publicly share resources on its website related to perimenopause and menopause. These resources must include accurate scientific information on symptoms and treatment options, health risks associated with reduced estrogen production, a downloadable checklist for clinician visits, and content adapted from existing materials. The bill is set to take effect on July 1, 2026.
