The proposed bill establishes a new section in Florida law, specifically Section 381.995, which focuses on the impact of perimenopause and menopause on women's health. It mandates the Department of Health to create a perimenopause and menopause policy workgroup tasked with developing key messages, setting initiative priorities, and ensuring that initiatives are representative of diverse communities. The workgroup will also create a coordinated communications strategy aimed at various audiences, including women, men, employers, and medical providers, while considering diverse dissemination points for information.

Additionally, the Department of Health, in collaboration with the workgroup and other relevant agencies, is required to develop and publicly share resources related to perimenopause and menopause on its website. These resources must include accurate scientific information on symptoms and treatment options, health risks associated with reduced estrogen production, and a downloadable checklist for women to use during clinician visits. The bill is set to take effect on July 1, 2026.
