The new legal language inserted into the statute clarifies that these APRNs can operate independently in this capacity, as defined by the rules set forth by the Board of Nursing.

Additionally, the bill maintains existing provisions that allow APRNs to engage in autonomous practice in primary care settings, such as family medicine and pediatrics, and outlines their responsibilities in managing patient care within health care facilities. The act is set to take effect on July 1, 2026.
