The bill amends several sections of Florida Statutes to prohibit various governmental entities, including boards, agencies, commissions, and authorities of counties and municipalities, from restricting or prohibiting the use of certain fuel sources and appliances for energy production. Specifically, it revises section 366.032 to clarify that these entities cannot enact policies that limit the types of energy production or the use of appliances, such as stoves or grills, that utilize these energy sources. Additionally, it establishes that any pre-existing regulations that conflict with this act and were in place before July 1, 2021, are rendered void.

Furthermore, the bill creates section 425.041, which prohibits cooperatives from adopting bylaws or policies that restrict the use of specified fuel sources or appliances. It also amends sections 553.73 and 633.202 to prevent the Florida Building Commission and the State Fire Marshal from implementing regulations that would limit the installation of materials necessary for using multiple types of energy sources, except where required for the proper operation of appliances. The act is set to take effect on July 1, 2025.
