It allows domestic wastewater treatment facilities with an approved plan to request amendments to incorporate reclaimed water projects that align with recovery or prevention strategies for these springs. The Department of Environmental Protection is required to approve such requests within 60 days if specific conditions are met, including benefits to rural areas, a minimum provision of 35 million gallons per day of reclaimed water, involvement of multiple treatment facilities, and adherence to implementation schedules.

Additionally, the bill redesignates existing paragraphs within subsection (16) of section 403.064 and introduces a new paragraph (f) that outlines the criteria for the approval of these requests. The effective date for this act is set for July 1, 2025.
