The bill amends Florida Statutes to create a special alcoholic beverage license for residential condominiums that meet specific criteria. It allows for the issuance of a license to any residential condominium with at least 50 units that regularly offers food and beverage amenities to its residents, provided that the sale of alcoholic beverages is limited to on-premises consumption by residents and their nonresident guests. The license must be issued to the person or corporation managing the food and beverage operations, not to the condominium owners' association. Additionally, the bill prohibits the sale of alcoholic beverages for off-premises consumption and restricts sales after food service hours.
The bill also makes conforming amendments to existing statutes regarding the possession of open containers of alcoholic beverages and the regulations for vendors licensed to sell alcoholic beverages. It clarifies that certain licensed vendors may sell or deliver alcoholic beverages for off-premises consumption if specific conditions are met, including the requirement that food must be sold alongside the alcoholic beverages. The effective date for this act is set for July 1, 2025.
