The definition of "primary or attending practitioner" is revised to include these APRNs, emphasizing their role in providing care to the decedent within the 12 months preceding death.

Additionally, the bill allows for the correction of information on permanent death certificates, stipulating that such corrections must be noted on the back of the certificate and signed by the appropriate medical personnel, including the newly included APRNs providing hospice care. The effective date for these changes is set for July 1, 2025.
