This bill provides for the relief of Eric Miles, Jr. and Jennifer Miles, who are the copersonal representatives of their deceased minor son, E.E.M., due to the negligence of the South Broward Hospital District, operating as Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital. The bill includes an appropriation of $200,000 to compensate the Miles family for the injuries and damages sustained by E.E.M. as a result of the hospital's failure to properly evaluate and diagnose his condition, which ultimately led to severe health complications and his untimely death. The bill also states that the facts presented in the preamble are declared to be true.

Additionally, the bill stipulates that the total compensation from the South Broward Hospital District, including the previously paid statutory limit of $300,000, is intended to cover all present and future claims related to the injuries and damages suffered by E.E.M. Furthermore, it establishes a limitation on attorney fees, stating that they may not exceed 25 percent of the total amount awarded under this act. The bill is set to take effect upon becoming law.
