The bill amends section 1009.26 of the Florida Statutes to require state universities to waive certain fees for graduate students who meet a specified full-time equivalent appointment requirement. Specifically, a new subsection (16) is added, which mandates that state universities waive fees outlined in section 1009.24(7)-(13) for graduate students holding at least a 0.25 full-time equivalent appointment in roles such as graduate assistant, graduate research assistant, graduate teaching assistant, graduate research associate, or graduate teaching associate.

Additionally, the bill redesignates the existing subsections (16) through (21) of section 1009.26 to subsections (17) through (22) to accommodate the new insertion. The effective date for this act is set for July 1, 2025.
