The bill amends Section 550.475 of the Florida Statutes to allow holders of valid pari-mutuel permits to lease their permitted facilities to other holders of the same class of permit or to jai alai permitholders located within a 35-mile radius. The amendment changes the language from stating that these holders "are entitled to" lease their facilities to stating that they "may" lease them. Additionally, the lessee is now authorized to apply for a license to conduct specified gaming activities at the leased premises, rather than being entitled to both a permit and a license.

Furthermore, the bill reenacts references in Sections 550.054(14)(b) and 550.615(8) to incorporate the changes made to Section 550.475. These reenactments ensure that the amendments are reflected in the context of applications for permits to conduct pari-mutuel wagering and intertrack wagering. The bill is set to take effect on July 1, 2025.
