This bill amends Florida Statutes sections 468.1265 and 484.054 to allow the delivery of prescription hearing aids through the mail under specific conditions. Previously, it was unlawful for any person to sell or distribute prescription hearing aids via mail to the ultimate consumer. The new legal language inserted into both sections states that a consumer may receive prescription hearing aids through the mail if all required testing procedures, as outlined in sections 468.1225 or 484.0501, are conducted by a licensed audiologist or hearing aid specialist prior to the sale.

The bill maintains the penalties for violations, classifying them as misdemeanors of the second degree, punishable under sections 775.082 or 775.083. The effective date for this act is set for July 1, 2025.
