The bill establishes new regulations regarding the display of flags by governmental entities in Florida, defined to include governmental agencies, local governments, and public educational institutions. It prohibits these entities from erecting or displaying flags that represent political viewpoints, including those related to partisanship, race, sexual orientation, and gender. Governmental entities are required to maintain neutrality in their flag displays and must ensure that the United States flag is displayed in a prominent position above any other flags.

Additionally, the bill grants active or retired members of the United States Armed Forces or the National Guard the authority to use reasonable force to prevent the desecration, destruction, or removal of the United States flag, or to restore it to a position of prominence, unless directed otherwise by law enforcement. The act is set to take effect on July 1, 2025.
