The bill amends section 627.7011 of the Florida Statutes to enhance notification requirements for homeowners insurance policyholders. It mandates that insurers provide at least 45 days' advance written notice to policyholders regarding any cancellation, nonrenewal, or rate change of their homeowners insurance policy. This notice must be mailed to the policyholder's last known address and, if an email address is available, also sent via email. In cases of cancellation due to nonpayment of premium, a shorter notice period of at least 10 days is required, along with the reason for cancellation. However, this written notice is not necessary for policies with monthly premium payments.

The bill also specifies exceptions to these notification requirements, particularly concerning nonpayment of premiums. The effective date for this legislation is set for July 1, 2025.
