2 A joint resolution proposing the creation of Section
3 33 of Article X of the State Constitution to prohibit
4 the use of traffic infraction detectors within this
5 state.

7 Be It Resolved by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

9 That the following creation of Section 33 of Article X of
10 the State Constitution is agreed to and shall be submitted to
11 the electors of this state for approval or rejection at the n ext
12 general election or at an earlier special election specifically
13 authorized by law for that purpose:

15 MISCELLANEOUS
16 SECTION 33. Use of traffic infraction detectors
17 prohibited.—
18 (a) The use of traffic infraction detectors, also known as
19 "red-light cameras," is prohibited within this state.
20 (b) For purposes of this section, the term "traffic
21 infraction detector" or "red-light camera" means any system
22 designed to work in conjunction with a traffic control signal to
23 record any image or video of any portion of a motor vehicle at
24 the time the vehicle fails to stop behind the stop bar or

25 clearly marked stop line when facing a traffic control signal
26 steady red light.
27 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the following statement be
28 placed on the ballot:
29 CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT
30 ARTICLE 33, SECTION X
31 USE OF TRAFFIC INFRACTION DETECTORS PROHIBITED.—Proposing
32 an amendment to the State Constitution to prohibit the use
33 within this state of traffic infraction detectors, also known as
34 "red-light cameras," which are used to record any image or video
35 of any portion of a motor vehicle that fails to stop behind the
36 clearly marked stop line when facing a steady red light.
